Pale Waves North American Tour
December 2nd, 2017
The Moroccan Lounge
Los Angeles, California
(Opening Act: The Candescents)
Alternative British band Pale Waves brings back the good old nineties sound. The band is composed of Heather Baron-Gracie (vocals, guitar), Ciara Doran (drums), Hugo Silvani (guitar), and Charlie Wood (bass). Signed to Dirty Hit, a flourishing British Independent Record label with an ear for original artists such as; The 1975, The Japanese House, Wolf Alice, just to name a few.
Pale Waves played a sold out show this past weekend at The Moroccan Lounge in the Downtown LA Arts District.
The crowd was a mixture of Generation Z’s and Millennials. I happen to talk to some very devoted fans who not only waited hours in line but flew all the way from Michigan just to watch their new favorite band.
The first time I heard Pale Waves was when they opened for The 1975 at The Greek Theatre earlier this year and knew they were going to blow up. Their sound is very distinct & nostalgic especially for millennials. And with the 80’s & 90’s making a comeback in fashion and television shows the band comes at a perfect time to reach the next generation.
Their opening act was a four-piece rock & roll band from Columbus, Ohio, The Candescents. Pretty awesome name if you ask me. The band is new, so their music isn’t available online yet but I did speak with their manager and they plan on releasing their music early 2018.
After a 20 -25 minute set of The Candescents, Pale Waves took the stage. A beautifully lit show by the very talented Tobias Rylander, Pale Waves commanded the stage with their catchy lyrics, toe-tapping melodies, musicianship, and of course their front woman Heather, whose angelic way of performing is mesmerizing.
The set featured their three singles with a few other songs that aren’t released yet but that didn’t stop the crowd from knowing them. Their newest single, “New Year’s Eve” just released their video December 5th.

Heather did mention their next single will be “My Obsession”.
